About Esen

Esen-alit-Quar–Esen for short, Es in a hurry or between friends—is my favourite character to write and by any measure the favourite of my readers as well. She’s a semi-immortal shapeshifting blob of well-intentioned (but not always right) blue whose adventures let me indulge my love of nature’s wild and weird wonders while telling stories of friendship, heart, and the pitfalls of communicating with other life that isn’t like us. Because she’s my foil for that as well.

While each Esen story is self-contained, the Dear Little Blob and her friendships change and grow with events so I suggest reading them in order. You definitely should start with Beholder’s Eye. Esen’s stories include the Web Shifter’s series and the Web Shifter’s Library series, along with assorted short stories I try to tuck into the other books so you won’t miss them.
